my coveted video ipod went mia today. funny enough, i'm not lamenting over it's disappearance. to danu, i can't thank you enough for the david jones 5% staff discount you granted upon the purchase over a year ago.
it certainly availed its course, being my reach of comfort for those long bus rides and lone walks to uni in perth. come kl, along with the comfort of a car, the ipod was neglected.
i have a hunch on who took it. now, this could be mere coincidence and it goes against all constitutional laws (of which i'm for) that include fairness, justice and equality. i don't have proof but the various acts of this person over the past week and by the process of elimination, has led me to this conclusion.
since it's a 'long weekend' with tomorrow being labour day and wesak day following that, there were at most 15 ppl at the content creation group dept. life! session went to klcc for a shoot just before lunch. i only went to the video room (and foolishly left my bag for public display) to do my tape log after lunch. then there's my producer. if you meet her you'll understand why she simply cannot be the culprit. she's the pragmatic trustworthy type, earns fishloads, and she's way past the ipod generation. that leaves us with the trainees - uni students undergoing their practical at the company. coincidentally, for 1 of them, its her LAST day. her contract ended just as the 14th Annual AIM wrapped up this weekend. when i first started at ntv 7, she kept asking why i carried my bag everywhere i went. i replied that i had valueable items.
she asked, 'like what?'
and yup, i mentioned my ipod.
she told me not to be so anal, that they've got cctvs installed in our dept., that if i lost something i could call up security for the footage. being the gullible specimen i am, i took her word, and started to leave my bag on my desk whenever i had errands to run. i called my producer and told her about my loss; newsflash - we don't have cctvs installed in our dept.
need i say more?

astute deduction. all you need now is a sidekick to say "elementary, my dear sidekick" to. sorry to hear about your ipod. lesson is learned, i hope; always check for cctv's first.
glad you have succumbed to blogdom. not exactly padlocked and unicorns. but, you can always imagine (:
